I have a green card. Can I file GC for my spouse (does it matter what is the status)? How long generally does it take? (I know I can not except a very good answer for this, but approx.)

What happens if my spouse is on Visitor visa?
I read in some threads that it is usually forgiven if spouse of a USC overstay in US on visitor visa, is it also true for spouse of US green card holder? Can a person wait until they get a decision?

4-5 years wait time.

Green Card spouse MUST HAVE A VALID NON-IMMIGRANT STATUS. If a person has been out of status more than 1 year, she can only file AOS when petitioner becomes USC. otherwise she will face 10-year bar from the U.S.
