We are green card holders. Our daughter is US citizen. She is 9 months old.We are planning to go back to our country for good as we lost our job here and so our GC will be cancelled. We want to come to US after few years. Can our daughter sponsor us GC??? If so, at what age she can sponsor us??? Please we need help...

Why Would The GC Be Cancelled If You Lose Your Job?

Sorry for being a bit blunt, BUT why would one lose his/her Green Card just because the job has been terminated? It does not make sense? Basically after you get your GC, one is home free? Otherwise what\'s the big deal in struggling for a green card? Stay in the US and find a new job? Even if you don\'t find a job, stay here and travel, and you are still legal, and after five years apply for US citizenship.

I would agree with snehal.It makes sense if a person on H1 leaves for good after loosing job. But definately not green card holder.You can cut down all your costs and do some small job like working at Mcdonalds or at some store that will take you thru the difficult times until market recovers.Market is worse everywhere not just in US.

Just curious to know if you are an immigration lawyer ? as while browsing thru this site, i have come accross a great number of your responses and i would say all of them make sense. Hats off to you sir !

Please advise, i need some help too.

My wife is a GC holder and i am on as usual B2 status, any idea if anyone has extended the B2 visa more than 6months ? maybe after 9-11 things are difficult but just out of curiosity i like to know.

Which is the quickets way other than naturalization of my wife and H visa to be legal here ?
