Need help with Green Card Process

Hello,

I have been working in a company in Los Angeles for about 4 and half years and my green card is in process for about three years. My green card process is in first stage of labor certification and my application is transferred to federal on Nov. 2003. My case is now in backlog and according to my lawyer I should be getting labor certification in next three to four months.

Lately my company is going through restructuring and cost-cutting. And my position is affected. However my old company wants to continue to help me with the green card process. I have found another job close by and the new company is ready to transfer my H1 visa, ready to apply for green card and ready to help me in any other way.

At this point I am trying to find out what are my options. Shall I continue my green card at old company and are there any issue with it? I think it is fast to get my green card from old company since it is in process for about three years but there might be some issues with it.

I have little less than two years left on H1 visa so now green card is a concern.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Shashank,
Better file a new application with the new company in PERM and let the old application process continue. Decide on whther to file a new application in EB2 or EB3. Looks like until some SVP ratings get changed EB2 applications for IT professionals will undergo great scr(ew)utiny. Good luck.
