Hello Everybody!

I'm new here.

I am a USA citizen since birth and I want to bring my Indian boyfriend to America. We have no formal papers showing that we are engaged to be married. People have advised me to look into the "fiance's visa". This is the first time I have heard of such a thing and so I need all the info I can get regarding this particular visa. Is there anyone from this forum with experience in this regard?

Please reply!

Thanks!

Thanks for that info and I will check that link out!

I really need to communicate with someone who has done this before though.

Please! If anyone out there has brought their fiance to USA on a "fiance visa" please contact me!

Joe!

I found this by googling

Valid passport
-- Birth certificate
-- Divorce or death certificate of any previous spouse
-- Police certificate from all places lived since age 16
-- Medical examination
-- Evidence of support
-- Evidence of valid relationship with the petitioner
-- Photographs*

These are the things needed for fiance visa. I don't know what they mean by "evidence" of valid relationship. And I don't have any photos of him.

I really need to speak with someone who has been through this before.

Hey, i just filled for my fiance to come here, evidence of valid relationship in regards to fiance visa means that you should have met him/her in person withing the past 2yrs (evidence could be, pictures of you guys together, visa to your boyfriend country of residence (thats what i used in my case) in addition to other documents.

Or , if you can prove a severe hardship is the reason you have not met your boyfriend in person, then goodluck,(catch 22, you have to file affidavit of support also and meet a minimun income requirement.)

Also , long established cultural issue might also be a valid reason for not meeting your fiance in person b4 filing to bring him here.

Hope this helps.

Which is the best route to take - do all the petioning myself or hire an attorney to do it? Does anyone here have experience with the offices of Rajiv S. Khanna?

Whom would you recommend as the cheapest yet most effective attorney in this regard?
