Need Help Travel India on expired visa and Revalidation

Hi I am on my 6th year of H1B, and I am planning to travel to India,
My visa on passport was expired back in May 2003 and I have got my approved extension (I-797), which is approved till this year-end Dec2004 (this is my last extension).

So I wanted to go to India to visit my family with my wife and get our visa stamped at Mumbai consulate office.

My question whether I will be eligible for drop box facility or do we have to go for interview, and what are the process and documentation I have carry from here.

I have also read some messages in this forum about the wait time for visa stamping in India. Consulate office asking about fingerprint and photo for some security checks,
So I am little bit scared about this process now.

Please help me on this.
