Need help to get state ID

Hello Pals,

My hubby and I plan to apply for state ID. How soon should I be receiving the photo ID? Will I get the ID on the spot or in the mail? If in the mail, what's the time frame?

Please Please Advise.

State ID's are provided on the spot. Just take your required documents with you.

It varies according to your immigration status, and from state to state.

It all depend in what state you live. I live in Florida and they told me that I would recieved it in the mail within 30 days after I apply for it. I got my state id with the forms the I had from the USCIS, I don't had my EAD yet.

Hello Pals,

I called the help line and they told me that I should get it on the spot if I pass my written test. I have an out of state license.

Some states require applicants to live in state for at least 45 days prior applying ID such as Penn State.

Some stated such as NY will mail in approx. 30 days.

Anyway, I will apply for Illinois state.
