For the question "Have you ever arrested, detained, citated by law enforcement officer (or by INS officer)?",
I will list my two speeding tickets but I'm not sure I have to list my below incident.
Please, advise me.
When I got stamping on my passport for H4 visa (My husband got stamping as H1) at US Embassy out side of US and returned to US border,
Border officer asked me to go into the office and reviewed all documents.
The reason was my 797A (Approval Notice) as well as my daugter's 797A were supposed to say "visa type H4" but "H1B" for both. Even though these documents by INS were incorrect information, I realized this during the interview at US Embassy after I went outside US.
So, the border officer asked me to go to local INS office to get "admitted stamps" from there. Since that time was one month after 9.11. the border officer is really cautious to give admitted stamps by his own.
A couple of weeks later, I went to INS, explained it, got "the admitted stamps" on passport without any trouble. INS officer mentioned this is caused by INS and the border officer should not send us for this minor error. This is soley caused by INS mistake on documents.
Do you think I need to disclos it?
What if officer ask me to submit the proof?
I don't know how I can get any record at the border or at local INS office.
What I have is 1) "appoinment page at US Embassy", 2) 797A approval notice with incorrect information, 3) the admitted stamps with later date on my passport.
Do you think this is enough documents in case?
Thanks for your advise in advance.
