I am a canadian who has been out of status in the states for seven years. When applying for jobs I marked us citizen on i-9 as i am native american and do not require a green card or work permit. Now i find out that I do not have the blood quantum required under the jay treaty. I am married to a US citizen. My question is if I apply for permanent residence through spouse sponsor will I be asked how I worked and will my application be denied because i checked us citizen?
