Need help renewing EAD (I-765) pending AOS (c)(9)

Hi everyone,

I filed the AOS 10/2008. USCIS seems to be taking a while to adjudicate my I-485 (family based marriage to US citizen). Anyway, my EAD is set to expire in a couple of months and I just have a couple of questions. I intend to file by paper (not e-file). I hope you all can answer them:

1. Since it's renewal based on the (c)(9) adjustment applicant category, there is no fee to renew the EAD (Form I-765)?

2. If there is no fee to renew EAD, do I have to send in a check for the biometrics fee? I have read that some people are being asked to complete another round of biometrics for the EAD even if they've done so already for the first EAD and I-485?

3. I am "pending adjustment of status," is that what I put for "Current Immigration Status" on the I-765 form?

Any other advice on this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
 
You have to pay again. I believe it's something like $300+ or so. And yes, just put "Pending AoS" in status.

No, the OP does not have to pay for EAD as he/she already paid $1010 for I-485 which included all EAD renewals ad infinitum.

I believe there is also no separate FP fees. In any case since you are paper filing, no biometric collection is required.

When we filed renewal We send this documents

Ead Application
Ead copy front and back
3 Pictures
I-765 Receipt (just in case)
I-485 Receipt (just in case)
I-94 copy (just in case)
No fee...

And You write "pending adjustment of status"

Yeah, C(9) renewal is no cost, including FP.
