need help regarding N-400!!!

I am filing my N-400 application thruugh based on marriage three years condition.In the question part 7- time outside the USA;they are asking how many days i spent outside of the USA during the past five years.I entered the USA on student visa on October 2002 and got married my wife in August 2003 and i got my GC in September 2004.my question is should i include the days before i entered the USA on student visa?there are are like four month according to this past five years question.
 
That's what I'd be tempted to do (list all 5 years even though 40% was pre-GC). But, I'd clearly mark what happened pre- and post-GC (perhaps list everything on an attachment rather than on the form; that way you can use your own format).
 
N-400

I was thinking to write down all the days ,i spent outside the USA, after i got my GC. dont you think it makes more sense?
 
Yes they only care about since your Green Card. I had a 6 week trip outside the US before I was married and I did mark that down on my N-400. During my interview he noticed it was before my Green Card and scratched it off the N-400 and re-adjusted the days in my favor...
