Need help regarding Marriage based Green Card

Hello All,

I have few things to clarify with you regarding Marriage based US Green card and here is my information. I have a girl who is a US citizen but she currently located in UK. We are planning to get married in the month of October once she comes back to States. Could anyone suggest me what process i have to follow and whom to consult. I am on H1B visa....and i was basically from India. I want as much information as possible. Please advice me.

Thanks for your reply and it was helpful to me. Is it advisable to consult any immigration lawyer to file my Green card application after marriage. How much they will charge for that? How much time will it take to get my Green card after filing? Do we need to attend for a interview for USCIS before i get my Green card status? Please advice me on this. That's entirely up to you. Do you have any skeletons in your closet (past arrests, overstays etc). As for the cost- well thats dependent on the lawyer you choose- each have their own costs, and costs vary by the $1000's.

Prepare for around 12 months- could be less, could be more- each case is different.

Yes. You will need to attend an interview before your case is approved/denied. The interview will be where you are to prove that your marriage is indeed bonafide and not a sham marriage for a Greencard.
