Need help on Filing I-485

I am landed immigrant in canada and I am about to file for I-485.
My lawyer suggested that I should go for Consular processing and my interview for approval would be held in Canada and not my country of origin.
Is it possible that I don\'t have to go to my country of origin?
Has anybody done this way before?
Could anybody advise on this?
