Need help on an court hearing problem and mistake ! Thank you.

Hi to all,

I have a question for you all. A friend of mine (X), who is in the process of getting her Green Card thru Political asylum went to court yesterday as a witness for one of her relatives (Y). Her relative is trying to become a political refugee as well. My friend (X) told me that she was asked so many questions about Y’s story. The judge suggested that her relative (Y) comes back for another hearing with better arguments, but Y refused saying she wanted to get it over with!!!!! Obviously, the judge denied her case.

My friend is afraid that her case will be compromised due to the fact that she was a witness on a case that was denied. She is really concerned and need some reassurance.

Please, could you give me your insight or ideas? Is there anything to worry about?

PS: She and her relative use the same immigration lawyer. She told me that she was added as a witness without knowing (!) and she did not want to object so that she is not seen as a selfish person by her family (!). I do understand her situation since I am from the same part of the World.

the message is not general. this cannot be answered without specifics. what was said in the courtroom???

I doubt there would be an issue unless the person said something very damaging.

I would have to agree with Hampton

Once, a decision is made on the case for X, it's NOT up to judge to go back and "replow the growing field", so to speak. Because whoever had approved the first case, had the expertese and right to do so!

Don't stress yourself out, this should not effect you or person Y. :p

dear Kaolack, u (x) ok , don't warry.i know what u mean , but sleep well.u'll be ok.nothing going to change after u try to help "y".i know. if u have to do it again , for onother relative , try again.u safe in any case.i know, dont ask.
