I am going to have my passport stamping next week. But I will move at the end of April. It is said that it will take about 30 days to get plastic card. When I should inform INS of the change of address--right after moving? Does it affect my plastic card mail?

Any input will be appreciated!

Address cahnge

It would be better if you change the address before you move(means rightaway). The better way to change the address is call the IIO and do the address change. Also, when you\'re going for the PP stamping, you can give your new address there itself. Also, you can use form AR-11(from ins.gov site), which is very slow. Once you change, it would be better to check with the INS whether they updated your address(around after 15-20 days).

In this forum, I have seen different opinions of whether the USPS is forwarding the INS mails(some say yes, some say no, ofcourse from their personal experiences), so I am not sure, when the INS sends the cards to your old address what will happen.

Hope this helps.

First move. Then within 10 days inform INS of the change using Form AR-11 and G-731 if you have not got your card by then. Also inform your postoffice and they will forward your card to he new address. Do not panic!
