Hi all,

My employer filed for my I-140 which was received by the Texas Service Center in early August 2007.

I am currently OUT OF USA (in London with residency permit).

The USCIS website suggests approx 6 months for I-140 approval.

From your experience:

1) any ideas on how long it will take? Can i expect the approval in Dec.

2) since i am in UKI, I will have to file for Consular processing for I-485. Any idea how long that will take.

Appreciate any help in advance. thanks.

Answers below:
1. The USCIS case processing time update indicates only the average time ... as you know that each case is unique, processing time will vary. A well prepared case are the best candiates for speedy approval. I would suggest you to keep checking the I-140 Tracker here for case by case processing time.
2. Yes Consular Processing is the best option. About processing time, it depends on your priority date. If that's current as per your country of chargibility (country of birth), then you can expect an approval within 6 months to 1 year.

hi, thanks for your response and the link.

my pd is JAN 2003 and citizenship is India but resident permit for UK.

If i go with consular processing, then guessing that i have to follow PD for India and not UK. pls clarify.

also, where can i check the PD's per country.

Thanks again.

Country of chargeablility is country of birth. Citizenships or resideny permit doesn't affect.
You can check the visa bulletin for Jan 2008 at
