Need help about EAD

I485 RD 2/26/02
EAD valid until 6/12/03
H-1B expired on 1/1/03
New H-1B has been filed by same employer in 11/02 but not approved by INS yet.

I am still working on H-1 pending the new H-1B extension. Now I got a job offer from another company. Can I work for the new company on EAD right away? Do I still need to wait until my new H-1B approval? Am I in danger that my working during 1/1/03 until now is ilegal because new H-1 is not approved yet? :confused:
 
You should be okay?

I think you mean resigning the current job and working for new company with EAD as full time.

If that is the case you should be okay without the new H1B getting approved. You could switch to the new job anytime you want as long as you have a valid EAD and the new job is in "same or similar job classification".

You are prefectly legal to work on a expired H1B after the extension has been filed before the expiry date. But I am only 90% sure on this one.

Pls retain all your paystubs to show the INS if they asked for proof of status as an RFE when you inform them about ur job change. Again there might not be a RFE at all...
