Need guidance on switching the category.

My details are :
    PD: 05/98
    I-140 filed in EB2 with ID 01/99
    On 24th May\' 99 VSC sent a letter asking me to support EB2 basis as I don\'t have Master\'s but has 6 years experience.
    My attorney sent supporting documents to VSC immediately. Then he convinced me that it would be wise to go with EB3 than to fight with VSC for EB2. I am not sure at that time and opted to go with him.
    I-140 redo with EB3 and approved with ND 08/99
    I-485 RD : 08/99 ND: 09/99
    1st EAD, 2nd EAD.
    FP done on 08/2000. My company changed its name. No RFE so far.
    Is it worth waiting or should I go back to process again with EB2. Any suggestions? How to enquire about FP status with FBI ? I mean could any one provide me the number to call. thanks in advance.

I don\'t have a suggestion. But here is my experience. My case was filed initially in EB3 and later my attorney has applied in EB2 category. The SC sent two queries on EB2 1. Experience 2.Salary. After my attorney sent the reply they have approved my case in less than a month, which surprised us. So now my case is transferred to EB2 from EB3 for I-485 processing. Anyway it is not saving any time as both priority dates for me are current.
