My case has been in quite a lot of mess since the beginning. In the latest round thi is what happened. I applied for I140/ I485 in Jan 05 under EB3 category. My I140 mistakenly got approved in EB2. My company lawyers just realized it couple of months back and they decided to change my I140 to EB3. I tried really hard to see that they don't do that. But since I140 is owned by company, they went ahead and filed the amendment for I140 to be changed last week. It just happened that this Monday my company announced layoffs. I don't know yet if I am impacted. But in case I am impacted, I am not sure if I can work on EAD for a different company or not. My lawyers are not telling me anything since I am not yet laid off. My question is, does my I140 still is considered approved or not. And can I work on EAD for another company in case I get laid off.
