I am an Student (Indian Citizen), have done my Bachelors here, and currently in Graduate program. I wanted to renew my Visa before travelling this summer to Dubai (U.A.E). My visa was issued in Dubai in 2001, and is now expiring in August 2006. I want to visit the Canadian embassy (close from Chicago, in terms of distance) to extend my F-1 Visa. Since my Visa is expiring in Aug 2006, can I visit Canada in May 2006 to extend my Visa. As I am also not a permanent resident of Dubai, so I cannot apply for an extenstion from there. I was born in India. Also, I may not visit India. Please educate me on the details of applying to the Canadian US Embassy for a extention. Your responses are highly appreciated.
