Recently I was offered a new position in my company. I got my i-140 approved in December 2003, filed cocnurrently in January, 2003. The position is in the same department, my title will be changing from a senior network admin to security analyst. The department and the company remains the same, the job requirement for the new position is almost the same as the one for the senior network admin. I asked my attorney and he sent me this reply:
"YOU ARE FINE, YOU CAN LITERALLY WORK AT BURDINES, YOU JUST HAVE TO ASSUME THE POSITION IN THE LABOR CERTIFICATION UPON APPROVAL OF RESIDENCY; THEREAFTER YOU ARE LIKE ANY OTHER EMPLOYEE; FREE TO STAY OR GO."

Now what does he exactly mean? Does he mean that when my I-485 is finally approved I will have to be in the same position that my labor is approved for or can I actually accept this position which in many ways is a promotion.
Please help........
Very confused.....

You are fine

Not sure what that 'legal' language means. I understand security analyst will be a superset of previous job just like you need CCNA for CCSP.
As long as you can get your boss to sign on a dotted line in your company's letter head which states your job responsibilities are exact or to most extent 'cut-and-paste' from LC, you are fine.
