I came here 12 years ago as student. I was very young and naive, and I was advised to apply for refugee, but application was denying.
I did maintain my F1 status, graduate from college. After college, I got H1 B, then green card. I am going to apply for citizenship soon, is going to be issue with refugee application?
I need help.

If you were 18 yrs old at the time when an application for Refugee was filed, then you cannot say now that you were very young and naive. However, if that application were happened to be approved, then I wonder what would you have said about yourself-an intelligent, wise and very smart person. Right? Just because you were not able to succeed in your effort at that time, you are blaming age and naivity.

Nevertheless, if you had disclosed about filing this refugee application on your green card application previously, then you have nothing to worry at all. But if you did not disclose about it on your green card application, then still there is a VERY slim chance that USCIS would find about this during citizenship time.

Good Luck.

Since the refuge application was processed by INS, INS should know all about it.

There is also not question about previous refuge application on the employment based GC processing.

Hi Johnny, am I right?

Hi Johnny,
Can you please anwser following questions. Thank you.

1. Since the political asylum application was processed by INS, INS should know all about it. My GC A# number is same as asylum application number.
Why did you mention that INS will not know about it?

2. Is there any question about previous refuge application on the employment based GC processing?

3. I forgot to fill out the political organization membership in AOS since I just signed the paper prepared by attorney without careful reading(stupid). I am going to write it down in the Naturalization. Any serious implication?

Thank you!

I think I already told you in response to your PM that I don't really have enough time to answer to everyone. However, it is my suggestion NOT to file N-400 without seeking a right advise from a VERY good immigration attorney. Because, your issue is a VERY serious issue, especially at the time of naturalization. You or others MIGHT NOT feel the seriousness of your issue, but it is indeed a very serious. Why? I cannot tell you right now, especially over here. However, you need to give more information to the attorney about this. Don't make any mistake wherein you would feel sorry forever.

Good Luck.
