need advice

hello:
I am PhD student and want to apply GC in NIW catagory. I don't know if should hire a lawer or do it myself. Could anybody give some advice?
My field is in Materials science. My research is related to clean energy. 1 Paper in US and 3 in my country.

It depends on you. Some people can file their own NIW petition as well as any attorney and others can't even seem to get BCIS to accept the petition without sending it in 3 times. You know which point in that continueum you are on better than anyone here. It also depends on whether you have enough time to devote to learning the material necessary for this type of filing (NIW's are not normally easy) and how badly you want to save money.

I had a legal matter that I retained an attorney for recently. I could have done it myself but it was more important to me to be secure that it was being handled correctly and I would have devoted hundreds of hours to a matter that the attorney I retained can probably do in 20 hours since he is far more familiar with the area than I am.
