Hi,

My family (wife, kids & I) just got our Green Card Approved recently, we have finished getting our Passports stamped..but have not yet recevied the 'Plastic Card'..
We intend visiting Canada over the Labor Day weekend, Has anyone had a similar experience, where they visited Canada and came back after a short stay without actually having the Plastic Green Cards, but only having their Passports Stamped with (permanent Residents). Was there any problems with that..

Thanks..

I completed my medicals in July, and from yesterday onwards my e-status is showing "Decision Made".

But I did not receive any letter so far. In case of approval, what they will send? Are they sending a letter? Or some bunch of papers?

Please give a clue.

Thanks

Raghu

Confusion...

Hi,

I think there is some confusion, we received our Green Cards in US for Permanent residence in U.S, we received our approval letters (notice of Action) a week after we heard it on the AVM Vermont INS office..

I think you are referring to getting an approval from Canada right ??
I don't have any information on that ...

It is OK to use stamped US GC

I crossed the border at Niagara using the stamped evidence for permanent residence last month. There was no any problem.

Thanks...mgyuan

Did the Border Security Officials at Niagara ask any questions on why you didn't have your card with you ??

INS Officer knew what the stamp is, but

when I entered to Canada, Canadian officer (a young lady) asked me what is that. I expalined that this is a evidence of permanent resident visa that INS issued before I can receive the green card. She accepted.
