I am planning to apply for Canadian Immigration and had a couple of questions in this regard. I am currently working in the US and planning to apply for Canadian immigration at the Buffalo center.

1. Do I have to submit the Police Clearance from US while submitting the application or can I submit it a later date after submitting the application?

2. My place of birth is in India and my Birth Certificate issued by the hospital in India do not have my name and is in the Regional Language. I do have another document in English (Civil Status document) that can replace the Birth Certificate and has all the details, if not more than present in the Birth Certificate. Please advice whether I can use the Civil Status Document.

3. I did my Bachelors of Computer Science from a Canadian University. Do I still need to submit proof of my English Proficiency as my education in Canada was in English medium ?

4. Is it mandatory that I should include the Business Card of the individual who signed the Work Experience Letter?

5. Should I hire a lawyer or can I just do it myself. It seems very easy.

6. Please advice me what mandatory documents should I submit with the initial application.

I would really appreciate if you could respond to my above questions, as I am eagerly waiting for a response.

1. U dont have to submit with initial application. However its upto you. There are several cases happened.
I didnt submit. I was asked to submit when I got my IA (after 1 year of initial application). PCC is valid only for a year. So it is also a chance that they might ask for it again. I would say, apply without PCC and send it after 10 to 12 months. Just my opinion. Experts in this forum might have lot to say abt this.

2. Submit any documents you have. Its better that way. As long as they can verify your date of birth, its fine. You will also have your passport to verify your dob.

3. you still have to prove your proficiency. Its better to appear for IELTS. However you can try ur luck by writing a nice letter towards the same. I sent, Toefl score, letters from schools, letter stating my experience etc.

4. Not mandatory. I didnt even have a business card. If you have the offer letter and your current pay slip, that proves your job status. A refernece letter along with resume would do.

5. No need for a lawyer. Its very simple.

Its just my opinion as per my experience. Dont worry too much. CIC is really good in processing and they generally wont bother you much as long as you are sincere.

Good luck.

Notarise the documents

Do we need to notarise the copies of all documents.. i.e. copies of educational certificates, copies of travel documents, copies of employment letters. please let me know.. thanks in advance..
