hi,
I got my 485 approved on 07/25

Non concurrent. 485 RD - 12/31/2002
ND - 01/02/2003
FP - 12/19/2003

I changed my employer on 07/15/2002 (after 6 months, got affected by RIF)
I didnot inform INS with AC-21.

I received the approval letter yesterday. Planning to go for stamping tomorrow. Just now my lawyer called me and is asking to inform about the change of employment.

Please suggest, what should i do??

Regards,
Raj

I don't see why your lawyer wanted you to inform USCIS after the approval. There'll be no questions asked about your current employer as you go for PP stamping...maybe he wants to make some more money out of your case. But I bet it won't be your best interest.

Just my 2 cents...

Ask attorney why he think you must send?.. any reason?.
my understanding with AC-21 is that sending AC-21 is not required,
I believe sending/informing USCIS won't be effected on ur approved case if new ur new job all set according ur LC (job/title/duties/salary ), ask ur attorney very specificly the reason and use ur brain to decide.

One senerio: (the USCIS may inquire with the officer who cleared ur 485 without any confirmation of job described in 140/485 was currently available at the time of approval) even u do have another similar job....

Don't worry you are not in trouble or in any problem, you have strong clear case, but all thing need to be clearified to them. thats all.. and I think that would be the only reason attorney advised. so whatever u deceide its upto u....

BTW .do you have any Derivative relaitve to sponser? i.e spouse/kids.

For stamping:
Make a EVL from New Empl, take with u on Stamping they won't ask the EVL ,
don't give untill you were asked. ..........got it?
make it simple " DIDN'T ASK DIDN'T TELL"

Good Luck

Fire the Lawyer

If USCIS has already made a decision on your case, why does the lawyer wants to fiddle it now. As far as your case he is done with the case. You dont have to inform INS of any thing any more. As far as they go you are a permamant resident. Stamping is just to confirm the approval. You dont need to answer any questions or do any thing at the INS center.

While your time with the lawyer ( seems to be an idiot ) untill you get the original letters ,and get the stamping and then fire his pathetic ass.

Congratulations again.

Good luck.

Greencard is for future employment

There is no need to worry, as I-485 is for future employment. Just take your past 1 month paystubs and you should be fine.
Congrats!!!!!
