Need Advice: Host parent willing to sponsor GC

Hi Gurus,

I hope someone can offer some advice here:

I am currently an H1B holder. Due to the nature of my company (money issue), they can't sponsor me GC unless I pay all the expenses.

I talked to my host parent (who I had known them for 8 years since I was an exchange student), and they are willing to help me by sponsoring Green Card for me.

Did anyone know whether a host parent (not blood related) can sponsor me a green card ?

Why don't you just pay for the expenses???? Its worth the money spent and less headache on your part.
