Need advice : Consequence of DV-AOS+EAD+AP with H1b/F1 holders...

If you apply for work authrisation (EAD) or advanced parole under AOS, your current H1 status is invalid from that point. If your AOS case gets rejected at a latter stage, you are out of status from that point. That is why it is a good idea not to apply for EAD or advance parole if you are doing AOS under DV. Just stay under your current status H1 or F1, whatever it is till you are approved. So you have someting to fall back even if you are rejected.

EAD and H1 (DV 2002)

I just got an EAD card and have spoken with an INS officer
about my H1B. He told me that my H1 status is good as long
as I work for the employer and I will be out of H1 status
if I go to work for somebody else using my EAD only. So I\'ve
decided to stay with H1 and don\'t use EAD until receiving my GC.
