Need Advice: AP applied, but not approved. Had to travel.

My wife had to travel before we received the AP. I\'m on a valid H1, while
my wife has an H4. But, the visa stamp on her passport has expired. She
plans to go to the Consulate to get a new H4 stamp (based on our H1/H4
status) in order to come back to US.

Do you see any issues with this? Will this affect the I-485 processing
in any way?

Be careful with this. Traveling will not affect your wife;s
pending AOS. The real issue is that if for some reasons her
visa stamp request is denied at a consular, not only is she
stuck abroad with no paper work to return, but her AOS is
considered abandoned.

Go to your local INS office and apply for an emergency AP. Bring all your receipts.
