Hi guys,

It seems to this stage i just need a job offer to prove to the immigration officer in order to approve my greencard, what I'm asking is a job offer. Is there any way to apply jobs (any jobs would do), and very high chance to get employed on the Internet? I'm from Asia and I have a degree in computing and have few years working experience in IT industry.

I'd appreciate if anyone can help because I'm serious to go to the states and i do not have sufficient fund and support, however i'll have enough fund on December 2009 but not on the day of my Interview.

Please help. I'd be appreciated if anyone can help me on this and i will pay him/her for helping me.

Thanks,

TKFoo

If U have up to 5 credit including English U are Ok cos even if u get a job now u require 2yrs experience.pls dnt bother yourself over unnecessary things all u need is Prayers and God,s favor on the day of the interview.Gudluck

As far as I know, in some countries the US immigration officers do not even ask for a job offer. They do not even ask for affidavit of support or proof of funds. Take it easy.

hello, you had the interview? they requested the supply of work or the sponsor to you? I am happening through the same, and demostre that I have but of 20,000 usd, of equal way requested the sponsor to me.. i dont know anybody in the eeuu

What are a few years? My wife is also working in the IT and has 20+ years of experience and it was not a big problem getting a job here for her. One big issue for most employers is, that your not staying in the US. That means, you must have skills that are very attractive for them and you must be very flexible if they ask you after an interview over the phone to come for a personal meeting.

Guys, please note that i do not have sufficient fund to prove to the immigrant officer, a sponsor, and a job offer. All these three criterias are mentioned by the letter that i need to have atleast one to pass the Interview, but apparently i do not have any. How am i gonna pass it? I'm sorry i know it sounded stupid to ask such question, but i don't want to give up, i know that's where i wanna be since i was young. I'm chosen for the first notification i will do everything possible to make it work. How did you wife get a job then when she was outside the US? Damn I'm so hate myself now, I tried everything i could, but no avail, and my CN will be current in June soon. I don't want to sit and do nothing or wait for the best to happen to me, I want to take action to do something to help on this matter.

She had her resume published Monster and I think it was Dice and was called by some recrutiers after that.

TKFOO84,

Did you meet other ex winners from M'sia? Were they asked to show their affidavit of support, proof of funds or job offers?

In Russia and Poland they often do not even ask for these docs. So maybe it will be the same in KL?

When did your wife look for the job? Today's job hunting is different than one or two years ago.

I'm looking for a job at the moment, and it is quite frustrating. I tried to apply to several kinds of jobs, including IT jobs but hardly get any answer back. Got several phone interview but that's about it.

There are jobs in the U.S but they are incredible hard to get because there are too many people applying to the same jobs. My biggest challenge is to convinced recruiters/HR from jobs that are out of town or out of State that I will be willing to move to their location. Most of the time my resume got rejected because i live to far from the job location. I end up have to put my friend address who lives in the area so they will accept my resume...and it works for the most part.

Monster and Careerbuilder website are a great place to find jobs but be careful on choosing the jobs. If you see an opening that has hundreds of the same openings across the list, most likely it is a fake job. Watch out also for a job opening that says "Confidential" as the name of the company. If the person who is hiring is not willing to give you their company information, most likely they are fakes. I recommend look at the job opening on monster or careerbuilder and go to the company website to apply for the job (if possible) rather than apply from monster or careerbuilder. If it's possible, fax or e-mail your resume directly to the HR or the person who is hiring.

Most IT jobs in the sites are from outsourcing company who will take advantage of people who are looking for a job. Be very careful with these company. Not all of them are bad, you just need to be careful to which of these outsourcing company you want to send your resume to.

Lastly, Write a Cover letter!! It is a custom in the U.S to write a Cover letter with your resume, so you can explain to the recruiter your background and skills in more detail. In the Cover letter you can tell them about your situation with the U.S Consulate and how you would need a job offer letter to get the green card. Tell them that you don't require sponsorship for a work visa. Don't lie to them about your immigration status because they will immediately reject you when they found out. It is better to tell them earlier during your interview process rather than when they already hired you.

Good luck!
