I just called an IIO at the national customer service center at 1-800-375-5238. The lady officer asked the zip code where I am living and the application date of my I-485 filed. After a while, she told me that ~{!0~}In that area, need about 24 months to process I-485 cases.~{!1~} Is this true or a new rule at BCIS?

LA area. My FP has been expired this month, but still no any information from INS.

My I-485:
wac02-042-5xxxx
RD: 10-19-01
ND: 11-19-01
REF: Oct, 2002
Replied/Rvd: Dec. 2002 (EL, W2)
Waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!

jzh,
the only one thing you can trust is kashmir's "private eye" scan reports and other posts of fellow 485ers on this forum...

i am at the same situation. If 24 months is true, it is not a bad news for us. only 6 months left.

wac-02-040-

ND: 11-2001
FP:01-2002
RFE: mailed out/replied in 11-2002, received &updated by
CSC 12-2002

my family 485s & FPs were filed from LA

24months is reasonable!

I think the 24months is very reasonable given the current rate of approval. My RD is Jan31,2002 and i am expecting my approval only next spring,2004.

bigshot.

She is probably right. Especially since LA people are the ones who are picked and choosed and being left behind the rest .. sounds believable. I'm from LA area, and I've been waiting for 18+ months, looking at the trend, another 6 is very within imagination.

I have a friend who filed I-485 on Oct, 2001 and got approved on Oct, 2002.

Can not believe that we filed only a few months after, yet makes such a differences.

couple of months ???

I am an early oct 2001 filer and still waiting with RFE received by INS is late Nov 02

hope04 I have colleagues of

mine who applied 1 day before me in the same company and they have their GC in Sept'02

Also we have many WAC01 pending and WAC0209xxx are getting approved.

So more weird things are there than the ones you are reporting.

So keep up your stamina as you will see a lot of weird things in the fantasia world of BCIS

There is a dude in my company, both of us have the same history, same job profile, same location pretty much, same everything. His and my apps were filed thru the same lawyer, same day, even same envelope.

He got approved in September .. aur main abhi tak idhar gaand ghis raha hu.

I wish best for the people got early proved.

But knowing it just make the whole waiting process even worse :(
