Nebraska Service Center Processing Time Update

Yep , 5 days jump is pretty sad... but I remember someone in the forum sharing that their RTD has been prepared according to the notice on website and this person had applied around 5-15-03....

I do hope that speed picks up on these RTD issuance....

The NSC Processing time report is dated on 10/15. Colomb, one of the forum members here, has a receipt date of 5/13 and Colomb's record got updated on 5/16. I hope the next report will have a big jump.

By the way, I called the BCIS yesterday, and asked her about the more than 400 days notice. She mentioned to me that the date is referring to the Re-entry permit. At the time I call, I did not have my receipt number with me so she could not tell me my case status, but she mentioned to me that RTD processing time is now 5 months.

If the processing date says July 15, 2003, it doesnt mean that other applications are not being processed. Some applications that require extra screening(background checks, RFE) are held until 90 days. The proper way to report is the way they are doing....they can't say We are processing applications from a month above and also from May since we are watiing for RFE from them...I have applied 7-8 times and everytime I have gotten the travel document in 30-40 days..even if the receipt was lagging behind in the receipt system..

every case is different..

wantmygcnow,

Are you saying that the processing date for RTD is not accurate? The recent report shows that the processing date for RTD is 5/5/2003 (based on 10/15/2003 NSC processing time report). Is this date the oldest date?

The last time I applied for my first RTD, I received my RTD within a month? Now more than two months has passed, and I am still waiting for my RTD? I just don't see the logic from your explaination. I just don't see why I have to go thru extra screening if I did not go thru the extra screening the last time. Can you elaborate your point further. I would like to understand the NSC processing procedure better.

Well its very simple. Lets say 10 ppl submit an application to the nebraska service center. #1 applicant submitted on June 2003 while #10 submitted on August 2003 and lets say #1 needs more evidence for his case to be processed(better pictures, wrong amoutn of money, rfe of identity etc). His case is lagging until he(#1)responds..and #10 submitted all his paperwork correctly, his application gets processed and is getting processed.

When BCIS repots application dates, they query a database where all the Travel documents pending and dates reciept sent are shown..#1 shows that its pending since June 2003..It doesnt mean #10 is not BEING PROCESSED! It just means that an application with the receipt date of June 2003 STILL has to be processed hence the date reported..

wantmygcnow,

Thanks for the explaination. Now I understand you. What you are saying make sense to me, but I still don't understand why the the title shown as "We are Processing cases with receipt
notice dates on or before" on the processing time report.

I think I have nothing to say. Given you have received your RTD, and received your in less than 2 months. I hope you are right and everyone who are still waiting will receive their RTD very soon.

One thing I don't understand is why my case is taking so long this time. I submited exactly the same document as the last time I applied for my 1st RTD. I also returned my original RTD to the BCIS. The last time I received my RTD within a month.

Thanks for the info you provided us and your further explaination.
