ND past Processig Date

My I-485 ND is May 1, 2004. I see that NSC has progressed to June 1, 2005. I can now enquire about my pending AOS. Do the customer service representatives really do something when called for enquiry? If someone in a similar situation can please post their experiences, I would be happy to learn from them. I am in the EB OR (1) category.
