ND: FEB03, FP1 not done until Mar04 - Anyone in similar situation?

Guys,

My ND is Feb12 03 (series EAC031005xxxx), but I did not get the FP1 done until March of this year 2004. With the recent spate of approvals in the Jan-Mar03 ND timeframe, its obvious that most (if not all) of them are such that their FP1 is about to expire and their files are being "touched" and approved. Since my FP1 will not expire for another year, I'm afraid I'm not going to get approved until then. After all, why approve someone who still has his FP1 valid for another year, when you can approve someone else who would need additional processing with a second FP, if not approved at this point? All part of the backlog reduction plan, right? Right.

Anyone in a similar situation? i.e. didn't get FP1 notice until a full year or more after the ND?

For all those people waiting with dates in 2002, I really hope you get approvals quickly. I know it truly sucks when people get approved out of the FIFO queue, although I'm glad at least some of us are getting relief, even if it is out of line. I'd rather have that, than have hardly any approvals come through, as it was even a few months ago. Having said that, I know I'd hate to be still waiting a year from now because of the above mentioned issue. :(

Again, please post your details here if you too did not get the FP1 done until a year after your ND (in 2003). We might have a LONG stretch ahead of us guys!

hmmmm... no responses... come on guys, am I alone in this situation? :(

As per the "automated tracking" spreadsheet, there were several people with EAC031005XXXX who had not gotten the FP1 notices until this year... Please respond if you are one of those with ND in Feb2003 and did not get FP1 done until this year. We are apparently in a unique category (assuming its not just me) and it will be interesting to track our cases and see if some of us actually get approved before FP2 sometime in the middle of NEXT year!

Thanks in advance.

similar ...

My ND/RD was in May 2003 ... and I didn't get FP notice until this February. Completed first fingerprinting in March 24, 2004. My online status says that Fingerprint results were received on May 06. And as my EAD was approved only 2 days ... there have been two LUD changes ... 08/10 and 08/11. Not sure if anything is on the works ...

It's definitely high time our cases start getting approved ... pending for 15-16 months already. But as many others are pending since 2002, don't know what to expect really.

Thanks for the response, Shaf.

My FP1 date was in March of this year as well. Interestingly, they got the results back from the FBI in April (as per online message), but the date kept changing every day until it stabilized at May 6th - same as yours!

LUD changed 3 times last month. Now its stagnant at Jul 26th. No updates since then. I'm worried that its now stuck until FP2 since there's no reason to look at the file until then. They looked at our files to see if we needed to be approved, since FP2 for those months (Jan-May 2003) was due for most people. Since our FP1 was just done, they moved on.

Yes I should be very unlucky...

If my concurrent filing was just few days earlier I would have got my I1485 approval. FO memo was working for me when they approved I140 after 15 months. However the finger printing was done in Feb 04. VSC stopped sending FP notices in May 2003 for RDs after 8th April 2003. Now I am stuck god knows when they will pick it up again.....may be when I apply for AP renewal in December of this year.

Need to wake them up ....they are like hibernating frogs...

Not sure where this statistic came from (I've heard it mentioned elsewhere as well in these forums) but its not true in my case at least. My RD is Jan 29 2003 and ND is Feb 12 2003. I did not get my FP1 notice until Feb 2004.

Not to take a pessimistic view (with the USCIS is there such a thing as an optimistic view anyway?), but I'm afraid we might be one of the last to get approved within the backlogged cases since we are on the cusp - the older ones will be touched before us and the ones after us as we are seeing, are already getting approved in order to keep within the 20 month timeframe.

may be you were not the forum

There was huge uproar in the community about getting duplicate FP notices for people in Feb to April 1st week RDs. To fix the problem they stopped issuing notices, and then a unwritten rule came into effect that the FPs will be sent out after 9 months of receiving I485. This was mentioned on CSC forum.

you could see these dates on the 2003 tracker XLS file.

You never know with USCIS, one fine day we will have our notices!!!

Not doubting that its true.... just not in my case. Or maybe you are saying it was only for the cases where RD was in the 1st week of the month... looks like I missed the boat by a couple of days then (since my RD is 01/29/03)! :(
