ND 11/2000 Transfered to a Local Office

A relative of mine with ND 11/2000 received an email today that his case is transfered to a local office for processing. The notice advises to check processing times of the local office.

I remember there were many people in here whose cases were transfered to a local office. Anyone who could share his/her experience about such cases is highly appreciated. What I would like to know is:

- What could be the reason for this transfer?
- is the applicant supposed to have an interview before the approval?
- does the local office request additional information and if yes what kind of documents.

I had promised some of the list members in here about an update of the infopass appointment. My relative had the apointment today. I translated for him, but the appointment was in a local office which is different from the one his case was transfered today. The lady we talked to started off to a very rough begining...asking that we contact the NSC to inquire about the case status. After some arguments (being polite of course) finally she agreed to check the status of his fingerprints and name check. After 10 minutes wait, she came back and told us that my relative's fingerprint and name check, both had resulted "O.K.". When we got home we found out about the transfer email. Bottom line, even infopass appointments are not that helpful after all.

Again, any sharing of experience from those whose files are transfered to a local office is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I was transferred to local office

a week after interviewing date, I received approval :)

now waiting my card..

basically:
U will get transferred when:
they need QA (some)
they need to ask you something
they need to you to show original documents (with authorized translataion)

my experience:
The officer just check my application, asked questions that based on my I-485 (asylum appl too, be prepared). at the end, the officer ask me the employment letter.
alll went smooth.

be nice and calm ^_^

dong infopass was helping me to know my case ...
since transferring, I did 5 infopasses :) . some had good results and some not.

so talk nicely and persistently, until you push the limit without breaking their mood .

Good luck for us.

Juxhin thanks for your post.
Did IO told you guys why USCIS still waiting for approval?
You guys request to file a Inquiry about his cases why it's taking long time?
Good luck to your friend Interview and you.
God bless everyone.

Mentos:

The IO did not provide much information. She just confirmed that my relative's finger print and name check had both passed. Given my experience, it all depends on the person who offers assistance. Sometimes they treat you nice sometimes you wish u better were a dog than an asylee.

So far, the real help for my relative has come from the Congressman's office.

Thanks

Mentos,

It's so simple to contact Congressman's office.
Do a google search about your area's Congressman and find his/her webiste.
In each Congressman's website, district offices are listed. Look for the district office that is closest to where you live and call that office. From my relative's experience, it's always good if you go in person and meet with Congressman's local respresentative. This way you put a face so they can remember you.

Good luck!
