ND 04/2004 - Stuck, any advice?

I'm a little dismayed seeing ND 2005 and people with ND as late as 08/04 getting approved.

Here's my timeline

Asylum approved 02/2002
I-485 ND 04/2004 (applied late - too much going on)
Did Fingerprints twice in 2005
RFE 02/28/06
LUD 03/02/2006

Here's the last update:
On February 28, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates

Does anyone have any advice on how I can get my case moving?. I have this feeling that my case file is sitting on some officers desk collecting dust.

Thanks.

As I said a few times on this forum don't sit and wait. First of all try to call 1800 number and try to get an IO on the line. It may take some time and efforts but as you can see in my case I was awarded for my patience. If you can't get you case move this way go to you congressman. If that doesn't help hire a lawer, but don't just sit and wait.

Well, if you want an IO to tough your file and see what is in there, call them as minst suggest. Once you get an IO don't tell him your case is asylee; Just say it is refugee, which you are. In that case, they will initiate an inquiry on your behave and once the officer who has your case gets this inquiry he may approve it, ask for additional evidence or simple tell you to wait since he has many cases before you. the answer from the IO will depend on your luck and how your file is complete. and by the way, accept a few cases, your case is not yet out of control. Just have some patience and work little harder...but don't be stressed too much at stage...Good luck

Great Faysal! You have been telling us to lie to USCIS in your posts. 'Use other means to go to COP, such as a third country', 'tell them you are a refugee, not an asylee'. Do you think USCIS is a fool? I hope you get denied at your citizenship interview because I am sure you have lied in the past to USCIS and they will catch you.

14ksusha: I pray for you that you get your citizenship as smooth as possible; in good health and in good spirit.

I don't really mean to lie, but I am trying to be helpful. If I lie, it is an honest lie, I mean there is no conspiracy at all.

There are two cases you mentioned: I said asylees are refugees themselves. That is still my understanding. Both an asylee and refugee share the same definition.

the other charge that I said visit your country of persecution through a nearby country. A lot of folks on the forum have did that suggested so. In each if you don't find what I say helpful; just ingore them. I could be wrong....As long as my citizenship goes I hope I will get it easy...Thanks man and take it easy

14ksusha, I get your point, and I agreed that liying to CIS is terrible and has many consequences; however, just a suggestion, "never wish bad luck to others... it may hunt you back...." this is just a though...you can take it or leave it...

So I callled folks, and interestingly enough, the automated system could not recognize my receipt number.

I finally spoke to a CSR (not IO) who suggested I make an appointment to see an IO via infopass.

I'm doing that next week.

Wish me luck. Has anyone does this before care to report on his/her experiences?

p.s
By the way, I have to say the USCIS has really bucked up in terms of customer service. I remember back in the early 2000s, prior to DHS, you used to be never be able to get through to them, let alone make an appointment to speak to a high and mighty immigration officer.

Strangely enough someone picked up the phone right away, too.

Mr. To be honest to you from my experience, making an infopass is just a waste of time. The guys at the local service have no idea about cases like this. I made an infopass many times. Met the IO, and they have no idea what I was talking about.
The best idea was if you could some how managed the IO you spoke on the phone to initiate an inquiry on your behave that would have been helpful. Also you may use you congress Rep. Or the office of abdusman. Good luck

I don't believe in 'what goes around comes around'. But I do believe in being honest all the way. I think honesty will get you wherever you are trying to get in life, especially when you make mistakes. I get slightly irritated (you can hear it in my posts) when reading 'helpful' posts of our friend Faysal who claims to know it all, but in fact, he doesn't seem to know anything other than how to mispresent facts and is sneaky. It's clear from his posts, don't you think?

Thanks - Sent letter

Thank you all for your advice, including - the limitations imposed on the district offices with respect to infopass regarding cases filed at the NSC.

So I crafted a letter and sent it to my congressman's office, along a copy of my case receipt.

Though I am happy for people with ND 2005 and later getting approved before I do, I think it is grossly unfair. Why should I have to wait longer?

Stay tuned.
