NC pending, already interviewed at NYC office, EAD expired

I had my AOS interview in July of this year where I found out that the 'background security checks are still pending,' so my application could not be approved at that time. The officer just wrote 'I-485 pending' on the passport.

Since then, my has EAD expired on Nov. 13th and has been pending for renewel (at Missouri Service Centre) for over 30 days now. I have already done biometrics for the I-765 application -- the service center sent me an appointment letter in octobre.

If I do not get the renewed card by Dec. 4th., I will lose my job.

I had been waiting up until now to see if any progress may happen, but nothing. I wanted to find out if it's possible that if I go to the NYC office and explain the situation to them, will they issue me a renewel, or an interim card, at least, on the spot?

I have to present proof that I am authorised to work in the US every year, so I am now in a bind.

I got the same problem 2 years ago, got my AOS with "pending 485" I renew my EAD 10 days before expired and I was kicked from my job, by then I was able to get a extension for the old one with proof of employment. Now the law changed and the local office will no give extension any more...
