Hi,

I just had a conditional green card 2 yrs changed to the permanent green card (10 yrs). The first green card was obtained in Feb. 2006. Given two scenarios, when can I apply for naturalization?

Scenario one: Still married, apply 3yrs after Feb. 2006?

Scenario two: Divorced after receiving 10 yr green card. apply 5 yrs after Feb. 2006

Do I have the timeframes correct? Thanks.

yes. but you can apply within 90 days before your 3 or 5 years.

Even though this is not usually an issue, be sure to understand that the three year to citizenship provision requires that you also live with your citizen spouse for the three years. Legally it requires a "marital union" and courts have interpreted this to mean that the spouses have to live together during the three years.
