My Uncle's naturalization interview is scheduled for November 6 (N400 filed in November last year). Unfortunately, he was charged with a DUI last weekend (first time with no prior cases) and has retained a DUI attorney. His first court date is on November 4, but the matter will not be resolved by then.
Given the current political climate - should he proceed with the interview, request to reschedule, or withdraw his N-400 application?
If he reschedules, will USCIS allow him to choose a new date, or will one be assigned?
If he contacts USCIS, what should he say to avoid negatively impacting his case?
Thank you so much!
