Naturalization help

I'm still confused whether I can used the 4 year + 1day, or if I should go with normal 5 year choice.

I'm trying to find to start my naturalization process asap, as I'm considering ROTC next fall.

I've got my Green Card on 11/23/2004.

Back then, on my early 20's, my hope was to live back in Korea after I graduate college, so it was needed for me to

serve military in Korea.

I did went and because I didn't want to lose my permanent resident status, came back to U.S at least within 1 year in the 2 year service.

Here is my total travel dates after my GC.

2005 07/05 (went to Korea)
2005 08/11 (Came back)
2007 05/28 (went for military)
2008 05/10 (vacation from army came to U.S)
2008 5/20 (went back to Korea)
2008 12/19 (Vacation, came to U.S)
2008 12/22 (Went back, short vacation)
2009 7/16 (Last vacation from army)
2009 7/26 (Went back to korea)
2010 1/15 (Came back to U.S)
2012 5/9 (Vacation trip to Korea)
2012 8/10 (Came back)

Initially I've started my 4 year + 1day on 2009 07/16 as this was the most recent trip that took more than 6 months

if counted by months. Using the 4 year 1 day rule, comes out to be 6/17/2013, and I added other additional trips since the date which resulted in March 8-10 depending on the calculation.

Am I doing or thinking this on right direction?

If the 4 + 1 does not workout, and while can the proof of my family paying the mortgages and other bills cover the disruption of my continuous residency even though my name was not on the account?

I'm so confused now, and I know it will be best to contact local immigration lawyer, but just want to know some information in advance. Thank you for reading my post.

It's 4 years and 1 day after the last trip which disrupted continuous residence; you don't have to add back shorter trips taken since then.

Looking at the trips of 6 months or more, the last one ended on 7/16/2009, so 4 years + 1 day after that would give you 7/17/2013.

However, you have a somewhat problematic trip from 7/26/2009 to 1/15/2010. It was almost 6 months long and happened soon after a 7-month trip, so a strict interviewer could hold it against you. To avoid that problem, apply 4 years and 1 day after the end of that trip, 1/16/2014 which is about 2 months from now.
