hi. I have travelled outside USA a alot of times in the last few years. Now when i filled out the application N-400 I did not know the exact dates of exit and entry to USA as those were on my old passport that I have lost. I have to the best of my memory put down the dates. Now I want to know that when I do have an interview would it make a difference. Would the interviewing officer have a record of my entry exits? And what if he says that ur dates are not accurate according to his record? I am very anxious plz reply

If officer would ask you about those dates just explain it as you did in above posting. You can also try to obtain dates through FOIA request (slim chance though).

My father is currently in the same predicament. He has travelled outside the US but cannot remember the exact dates so in filling out the application we put approximate dates. I think that at the time of the first interview they will ask you if all the information on the form is correct and I suggested to my father that he tell them that the dates are not exact but it is an approximation but he is sure that he did not stay over the time for continuing residence. It is always best to be honest.
