Naturalization and Child Support Issue

I am asking this question on behalf of my friend.

She got married to a USC & divorced nearly 10 years ago, and she also has a child with her ex-husband. The child remains in her ex-husband custody. She gets to keep her 10-year green card which she renewed recently.

Obviously he is supposed to be a rich guy, so he never asked my friend for a child support (and she officially never paid anything). She has supported the child unofficially like buying clothes, taking him for trips, etc.

Their divorce was on a bad terms ...

She was trying to file N-400 recently and found out that she needed a proof of child support from her side. Her ex- husband is a weirdo and doesn't want to cooperate. My friend thinks that she is unable to file for naturalization then.

Is the lack of child support evidence an issue? And if so, what can my friend do to file for naturalization and become a citizen?

I wanna to add one think. My friend's ex-husband does not want my friend to become a citizen. So a third question is whether he can really make her unable to get it.

Another thing is that my friend was court-ordered to pay $150/month. Which allegedly she didn't pay by check or wire transfer, but rather it was in a form of goods, clothes, toys, trips, and direct cash for which she almost never has an evidence.

I wonder if anyone can shed some light onto this case.

She's screwed. Without evidence of having paid child support or an official document saying she does not have to pay child support, or at least a notarized statement from her ex saying that she has paid the support as agreed and does not owe anything, she almost certainly won't be naturalized.
