Interesting document about how the Adjudicator will conduce the Naturalization interview.

As you will see, special emphasis is put on Determining How an Applicant Acquired Lawful Permanent Resident Status.
Also Determine whether an applicant was eligible for Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status when it was granted

I'm wondering if this could be used against Green card holder's through asylum who went to COP.

What do you think?

USCIS Naturalization Adjudicator's Field Manual

Well ofcourse if you ask for any benefit from USCIS, be it for US Citizenship or a Travel Document. They have to check if you are still valid to obtain that status.

So ofcourse they will review how you obtained your GC. Lets say someone married and got a GC and divorced 2 days after...that marriage may be fraud or it may not be but they have to review it. For previous asylees, there is no right answer. If the officer thinks you commited a fraud in obtaining a GC, he will deny your Citizenship.

There is no right answer for previous asylees. But as the big brother, USCIS has the right to review everything and anything at a given time. Its a benefit they are giving you not a right.

until now ..same people do not realize how serious can be a citizenship interview.
I remember an experience of a guy..make long story short ..he get denied citizenship for lying under oath not during naturalization interview but 4 year ago because when he enter the country on student visa he get married and granted Green card without attend the school.
and no teller about any charge or incident happen to you ..matter fact with immigration law you can be convicted of crime even If the charge was dropped or dismissed or without spend one day in jail.
upon citizenship immigration officer can deny your application and put you on removal proceeding and the judge decide whatever deport you or not .

Jubilee,

You continue to amuse me. I am sure all the things that you listed above will happen to you during your interview. Because you will be sitting there, trembling like a rabbit, so the officer will surely think you have something to hide and bounce your case back to USCIS for further investigation, and possibly a court hearing. Just like you predicted!
