Nany from Nepal

I am a US citizen living in the US. I am thinking about bringing in a domestic worker from Nepal and would like to know what the procedure and likelyhood of getting such a visa is. The individual I would like to bring is not a relative of me or any such thing. As a matter of fact, the only reason I would like to bring this person to the US is because she was a domestic worker at my brother's house in Hong Kong and is very good at it. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Although I'm not too familiar with this, I read somewhere that the only way to bring a Nanny legally to the US is through a J1 Aupair Visa (J1).

Usually a US Authorized AuPair Agencie can/should help with this.

Search the net for more info.

Were you able to bring Nepal Nanny to US

Hi there,
passing by saw your old thread of question to bring in a nanny from nepal. Were you able to do so. i know a person who lives in India and is a perfect match for our family. We would like to bring her to the US .

She speaks Hindi only and no english.I hear that in order to go through an Aupair agency in US that can bring in nanny on a J1 visa, they need to be proficient in English and at least completed higher secondary or equivalent education which my nanny does not have.

Would you know if this is going to be a problem?

She is known to my family in india and therefore i would like to bring her to US.
Please advice.
