Names on Plastic GC

Hello all,

Here is the situation:

Both me and my husband have our first and last names swapped on the plastic Greencard (listed as FIRST NAME, LAST NAME). It has been this way through the EAD, parole, passport stamping... and now on our plastic cards. Neither one of us knew anything was wrong. No one told us that it should be listed differently. Both of us even went out of the country and reentered with our names displayed such on our EAD cards. Both of us even opened tickets with BCIS to track the arrival of our plastic cards, notified change of address... and there have been no questions or concerns from the BCIS to date.

However, one person specifically at the DMV office happened to notice this and mentioned it to me. How much of a concern is this? Does it mandate going through the entire I-90 process or can it be explained (if there are any questions in the future) by providing adequate documentation (namely our Greencard processing related papers) since all other GC-related info (A#, DOB, etc.) is accurate.

Same thing happened to Boutros Bourtos Gali. Atleast Boutros' first and last name are the same and he did not have problems with it.

Immg-Jak what's the matter with you? Someone is asking for help. No need to be snide. This is supposed to be a forum for help. If you can't offer anything of substance why harrass us? Does it give you a kick out of mocking the users in this forum? If you like I can direct you to some immigrant bashing web-sites where you will find your kind of people.

Back to business. Malavika, if you really want to correct this, you are correct in assuming an I-90 is the best course. It probably makes sense if especiallly if you plan on traveling abroad regularly.

Can you get away with not doing anything? Probably. As you mentioned all your other documents are in order. The decision is yours. From a personal standpoint I would file a replacement PR with the correct name.
