Namecheck for NSEERSs

Hi everyone,

I thought it would be helpful to have a thread to track the time it takes to clear namecheck / adjudicate i-485 for NSEERS applicants. By definition, NSEERS applicants carry National Security concerns and therefore undergo more thorough reviews in both immigrant and non-immigrant cases (e.g. background checks). Since I am a NSEERS applicant myself, here's my data:

TSCEB2Current
Country: Egypt
EB2, TSC
i-140: RD JAN-06, AD AUG-06
i-485: RD JAN-06, pending
FP: cleared
Namecheck: pending

I'm from lebanon and I go through the NSEERS too.

Well, it is not true. I am also NSEERS required and my petition was approved from filing to GC in hand 7 months.
EB2 - TSC
Filed concurrently in August 2006
GC mailed - Jan'07

DON'T GIVE HOPE! IT WILL WORK FOR OUT FOR YOU GUYS SOON!!

How you guys check if your name check is pending.I called FBI customer service and gave me A #. They said they received request on Nov 9 and send back next day.
Is name check and finger print taken by ASC sends to FBI is a same thing?

Answer: I found out about my name check through 2 sources: USCIS Ombudsman and my local Congresswoman.

Finger print check and name check are 2 different things. Finger print checks are usually completed in 24-48 hours (and that's probably what FBI customer service provided you). Name check is much more complex and could take anywhere from months to years. Your best best would be your local congress person. They are likely to help you if you are well outside the USCIS processing schedule.
