I just came to know from my Congressman that my NC has been cleared on 10/25/2007. I also noticed a LUD change on my approved I-140 on November 04. But NO LUD on my I-485.

Any idea how long would it take to clear the next step?

I had a new LUD on approved I-140

on the same day as your. May be my name check was cleared also..:confused:
However, it might be an automatic update....(on Sunday)

I am pretty sure that your approval is coming soon.
 
Usually within a month if your NC is clear and visa #s are available for your category then you should get an approval within a month, provided other things are fine such as your medical etc.
 
Do they ask for another round of medical test.?When I filed I-485 I had gone through all the tests.
 
Nothing is guaranteed. My NC cleared on Jul 25 07. No change in status as of yet. May be I am not so lucky.
 
I think we are all stuck at various stage sof the system which itself if not conherent.

(1) Some people see no LUDs and just directly receive their card.
(2) Some receive usual LUds and followed by approval notice, card production ordered anf followed by welcome notice, followed by actual GC.
(3) Some people just directly receive welcome notice, followed by actual card.
(4) In my case my wife who is derivative received the card and her case followed usual trend but not welcome notice, but she received her card. BUt my case still shows pending but I received DHS letter saying it was approved. So I dont know what to believe and what not.

But one thing is consistent that all receive a decision after their NC cleared whether it is approval or RFE or NOID.

It is possible that you are already approved, In my case I received Welcome notice by USPS at home on Nov 8th (GC approved on Nov 5th, NC cleared Oct 25th 07), but Online message still says Pending - No LUD. So check your mail box.

DId you recv the actual card yet ? Since my case status still says "pending", but I recvd a letter from DHS with their seal on it saying it they have denied my eb-2 485 since my eb-1 case had been approved on 11/1/2007. It is not actual I-797 but on plain paper.

If you did recv your plastic card then I have got some hope. Anyway I just called USCIS and a nice agent wrote a note in my case describing my derivative got actual GC while I being primary did not get it, so she believes my file got separated. What a unique situation, usually when files get separated derivative's case gets stuck not primary's which happened in my case. ONe can get all sort of weird combination in cases in USCIS. God knows how they work.
