My uncle(mother\'s brother) has filed for my mother\'s immigration in 1989
under the F4 category. The PD date will hopefully be current in the next
few months.

My uncle just received the I-864 application to be filled.

The question I had is regarding the name of my mother used on the
application

Her birth certificate lists here as

Aminah Banoo Smith (Smith her maiden last name)

Her passport lists her as

Amina Doe (Doe being her married last name and Amina is without an "h&quot

Her application which my uncle filed is listed as

Aminah Banoo Doe

Do we have to make any corrections. Will be cause any problems?

Make sure you have proof that she is the same person

Luckily girls name change is not a big issue. You might want to carry proof that she is the same person though (Proof like school certificate/birth/marriage certificate, affidavit from family elders or respected people in society like teachers, govt officers or Priests that she has been know by these names)

Make sure your DS 230 forms are filled with the correct spelling of the name your uncle used to file for GC.
