Hi All,

Me and my wife both are on H1B. We have recently applied for 140/EAD/AP/485 ( with all the required docs like, medical exams, passport copy, tax papers, w2 forms etc) through my wife's employer while my Labor is still pending. We have also received approval notices for 140/EAD/AP. 485 still pendind and we have been informed for FP.

My problems is my first name written in two words insteard of one word on birth certificate and passport. All other documents (like educational certificates, H1B, SSN, Tax papepers, w2 forms, Driver licence etc) have correct name.

Example: "Rama Giri" instead of "Ramagiri".

Does this creates any problems for 485 approval and passport stamping. Do have to take any action to correct this kind of problem. Please respond if you know.

Yes, it can. Assuming "Ramagiri" (example) is correct name, it's better to correct your birth certificate and passport. Correcting passport should be easy. You can do it at your nearest consulate - with supporting school-leaving certificate and driver's license.

Correcting BC is not so ungent, but better to do it when you have time. If you are from India, the place (city municipality or village panchayet office) your birth was registered can correct your name and issue a new certificate - with supporting document like school leaving certificate.

Does Municipal office in india should also give a letter saying that the earliar birt cirtiface was given with wrong name in addition to the new birth certificate?

Or Just new birth certificate alone with correct name is enough?

Please adive?
