Name mismatch in passport and other docs

I recently got my 485 approved.

In my passport and H1 visa, my last name is written as first and first name is written as last name. However for all other docs ( driving license, bank accounts, 140, EAD and 485 ) I used the correct first and last name. Also in all my certificates my name is correct.

My 485 also approval has the correct first and last name.

Do you think stamping I-551 could create a problem in future ?
Should I first corrcet the name in the passport ?
Once the plastic card arrives, Is I551 still required. If not then I can get I-551 stamped now and just get a new passport?
Can I get a new passport at NY consulate or I have to get it from India?

Thanks

In general, it is a good idea for all of your documents to show your name in the same way.

Our GCs showed our names as first, middle initial, last name. When we to the Social Security office to get new cards (without USCIS legend) the woman told us that it was important that the two documents match. Our old SSN cards had first, full middle name, last. So she was only talking about the difference between using an initial or the full middle name.

It seemed really over-paranoid to me at the time. It sounded like something the DMV might say. Then she said the reason to have them match was for when we apply for our driver license renewals, so when they check the various databases, everything squares up!
