Name issues and N-400

Hello,

I have been reading some of the messages and noted that name check issues could hold up the process by months, if not years. I have been somewhat inconsistent with the use of my full name (my social security card/tax returns have the initial "T" for my maiden name as my middle name initial, while my green card has "S" for my Chinese name as my middle name initial). I have been consistent with my first and last names. Does any one here suggest that I correct this problem with the Social Security office before applying for N-400? Or is this a waste of time? I foolishly did not give this inconsistency much thought until I was denied a credit card application because of this inconsistency (I used my GC as a form of photo ID) so obviously it has potential to be a snag.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

as far as i know, your SS should match with your green card and your driver license.

I am not sure if there would cause your name check thou.

Hello umeboshi1,

At my interview the office asked me about my initial and what does it stand for... she wrote it down on my N-400. I wish this is help
